Scenario Planning Toolkit

The Scenario Planning Toolkit is designed to help transportation planners in any organization design, plan, and run a Scenario Planning Workshop. There are two types of material contained here: Guidebooks and Workshop Collateral.

Guidebooks

Two guidebooks are included in the toolkit. 

Planning Guide

The Planning Guide was written to help a Workshop Project Manager to design, plan, schedule, and run a Scenario Planning Workshop.

Facilitators Guide

This guide is written for anyone who will serve as a session facilitator at a Scenario Planning Workshop.

Workshop Collateral

These materials are to be used during a Scenario Planning Workshop.

Scenario Brochures

These four documents provide participants with background on their  assigned scenarios. They are to be used in the immersion portion of the scenario breakout sessions.

Newscast Videos

These videos (one for each scenario) are of fictional newscasts set in each future scenario. They are 5 to 6 minutes in length. They are to be used in the immersion portion of the scenario breakout sessions.

Evaluation Debrief Spreadsheet

This is a template spreadsheet that tabulates the different votes for the elements within the scenario planning breakout session.

Introduction to Scenario Planning Slides

This is a set of annotated slides that can be used by the lead facilitator or Workshop Project Manager at a workshop. This is in Microsoft PowerPoint format.
