Supply Chain Frontiers Issue #28. Read all articles in this issue

The MIT Center for Transportation & Logistics (MIT CTL) will give a number of presentations on a wide range of topics at this year’s Council for Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) Annual Global Conference 2008, Denver, CO, October 5 -8, 2008, including a Major Session presentation by Dr. Mahender Singh on managing uncertainty.

This will be the third consecutive Tuesday morning Major Session slot that MIT CTL has hosted. The presentation is open to all conference attendees, and is a keynote session for the three-day event. The CSCMP annual conference usually attracts around 3,500 supply chain professionals.

Dr. Singh, who is head of MIT CTL’s Supply Chain 2020 Research Program, will explain a new methodology being developed by MIT CTL that helps companies to compete in volatile markets. The presentation will be reinforced in the afternoon by a Hot Topics session built around the same subject. The interactive session will include panelists from The Dow Chemical Company, General Motors, Oil-Dri Corporation, and Solutia, and will use a mini-case study on Boeing to illustrate MIT CTL’s innovative approach to market uncertainty.

Other MIT CTL presentations at the CSCMP conference cover energy efficiency, freight transportation, and humanitarian logistics.
