This highly interactive event will feature participants from the shipper, carrier, broker, and technology perspectives. The goal is to identify and better understand current and pending innovations that may potentially disrupt the freight transportation industry - especially the North American Trucking market.
Some of the topics that we will address include:
- Digital Freight Matching - is there room for an Uber or Lyft like application in the freight management space to match capacity to demand?
- Mobile Computing & Positioning - now that we have mobile GPS in smartphones at essentially no cost will this allow us to have visibility without EDI?
- Automated Trucking - when will we start seeing this on the road and what form will it take?
- Transportation Management Systems - how are these systems evolving and taking advantage of cloud technology? Is the long-promised capability of multiple mode and asset based management finally happening?
What is the probability of these technologies actually coming to market? Are these newly evolving technologies disruptors that threaten the market, or simply steps in the evolution of freight management? How are shipper-carrier relations evolving over the next few years? These are the types of questions that we will tackle during this roundtable.
