Where will the course be held?
If your event or course will be held on the MIT campus we will follow up with a specific room name and number with directions. If your event or course is held online, you will receive a unique join link via email.

MIT E40 can be found on MIT's interactive Campus Map. The street address is, 1 Amherst Street in Cambridge.

What should I wear?
Appropriate attire is business casual.

What if I have a dietary restriction or allergy?
Please email ctl-events@mit.edu.

Are accommodations provided for on-campus events?
No, each person is responsible for their own accommodations.

Where should I stay for on-campus events?
Please see Where to Stay for many helpful links; click on Preferred Hotels under the map for a list of local hotels.  Another hotel to consider is the Residence Inn located at 120 Broadway, Cambridge, MA  02142, tel. # (617) 349-0700.  It is not on the list but is very close to campus.

Where is the nearest airport?
Boston's Logan International Airport.

What is the best way to travel from the airport to campus?
To get to MIT from the airport, we suggest taking a cab. The trip will take anywhere from 15-30 minutes, and the fare is roughly $35. The cab fare from Logan is always a bit more than the return because a surcharge at the airport and a tunnel toll add approximately $5 to the total fare.

Ridesharing at Logan International Airport has specific pickup areas. See this MassPort App/TNC page for more information.

If you prefer public transportation, use airport transit to arrive at South Station and then take the MBTA (T) Red Line to the Kendall/MIT stop. This will take approximately an hour.

What is the best way to travel to the airport?
We suggest taking a cab or shared ride service to arrive at the airport in 20-25 minutes. There is a cab stand at the Marriott, 50 Broadway. Alternately, during high traffic times, take the Red Line from Kendall/MIT and transfer to the Silver Line SL-1 at South Station. The Silver Line has service every fifteen minutes for all airport terminals. However, the Silver Line trip takes about 60 minutes from MIT.

Please allow three hours for a domestic flight (four hours for an international flight) between the adjournment and your return flight.

Should I rent a car?
We do not recommend renting a car

If I drive, how do I get there and where can I park?
Use maps.google.com or GPS to find your best route.
The nearest self-parking garages are the Kendall Square South Garage, located at 350 Kendall Street, Cambridge, and Kendall Square Green Garage, located at 90 Broadway (adjacent to the Cambridge Marriott).

Additional Materials and Miscellaneous Information

MBTA public transit map - MIT is the Kendall stop on the Red Line. You may want to explore Cambridge and Boston while here. One-way fare for a bus is $2.40 and $2.90 for the subway. There are ticket kiosks located at all subway stations (the kiosks themselves can be quite an adventure). If you will only be using the subway for one round trip, select "other" for the amount and put in $5.80.

Local restaurants:
There are many fine restaurants in Cambridge and Boston. Here are a few local restaurants that you may want to consider (we're not advocating for these, just letting you know about them):

Legal Seafood - Excellent seafood, 5 Cambridge Center, at the corner of Main and Ames Streets.
EVOO - organic eclectic food, 350 Third Street.
Za - pizza (EVOO's sister restaurant is also located at 350 Third Street.)
Liberty Hotel - What was once the iconic Charles Street Jail is now the stunning, vibrant Liberty Boston Hotel. Just across the river (Inbound on the Red Line), one subway stop, located at 215 Charles St.
