Abstract

Supply Chain Frontiers issue #47

The Zaragoza Logistics Center (ZLC), Zaragoza, Spain, hosted the kick-off meeting of the European project WINN (which stands for: European Platform Driving Knowledge to Innovations in Freight Logistics) in October 2012. In attendance were representatives from the European Commission (EC) and the project partners, which include companies and academic institutions from the European Union region.

The main objective of WINN, which is supported by the EC, is to establish an agenda for innovation in logistics and supply chain management that will help to improve the competitiveness and environmental sustainability of businesses. The EC plans to implement the logistics innovation agenda in the 2014–2020 timeframe.

Meanwhile, WINN’s first milestone is to create a partner group of public- and private-sector organizations to define the agenda.
