Five companies have become strategic partners of the Center for Latin-American Logistics Innovation (CLI). Based in Bogota, Colombia, CLI is part of the MIT Global Scale Network and is expanding its base of corporate sponsors in Latin America.

The new strategic partners are cement manufacturer Grupo Argos, food industry companies Alpina Productos Alimenticios, Alianza Team and Grupo Nacional de Chocolates, and Colombian retailer Grupo Éxito. The companies are leaders in their respective industries.

Strategic partners - the highest level of CLI membership - sign on for ten years of participation. In return they receive a number of exclusive benefits such as access to special networking opportunities and the MIT Global SCALE network, research on company-specific problems, and “company days” at the MIT Center for Transportation & Logistics (MIT-CTL). CLI offers other levels of membership with various benefits such as preferential access to events and research, interactions with CLI researchers, and access to masters students for hiring and research purposes.

CLI was launched in February 2008 through a $19 million agreement between MIT-CTL and Colombian logistics company LOGyCA.
