A report titled “A Guide to the Carbon-Efficient Supply Chain” has been published by Newark, NJ-based publisher IOMA, which also publishes MIT-CTL’s newsletter Supply Chain Strategy. The report includes contributions from the MIT Center for Transportation & Logistics’ Carbon-Efficient Supply Chain research team headed by Dr. Edgar Blanco.
The results of an industry survey on carbon efficiency are included in the report. Its seven sections cover the background to the emergence of green supply chains, the business imperatives that are driving carbon efficiency, how supply chain fits into the picture, the advent of carbon labels and the supply chain implications, measuring carbon emissions in the supply chain, strategies for reducing emissions including case studies, and a list of resources.
