In this installment, Peter Keller will discuss current global container market trends, including large vessels, consortiums, and terminals along with their associated concerns and how they impact U.S. terminals and intermodal structures.

Peter I. Keller was appointed President of Sea Star Line in February 2012.  Sea Star provides cargo transportation from North America to Puerto Rico and other Caribbean islands. Previously, Keller was a consultant and adviser during the Jacksonville-based company’s recent restructuring and has more than 40 years of experience in Puerto Rico, one of the biggest markets Sea Star serves. From 2000 until 2010, Mr. Keller was EVP and Chief Operating Officer of NYK Group Americas, one of the largest shipping companies in the world. He is the second non-Japanese nominated to the Governing Board in the 125 year history of NYK and was the first to be named President of NYK Line North America. Mr. Keller has extensive experience in Port and Terminal development, Liner Industry activities, Labor relations, Intermodal operations and Supply Chain economics and strategies.  He has also been involved in merger and acquisition strategies and tactics, public private partnership development and has advised many senior Industry executives. Mr. Keller was inducted into the International Maritime Hall of Fame in 2006 at the United Nations in New York.
