Abstract

Supply Chain Frontiers issue #16. Read all articles in this issue.

The line up has been announced for the MIT Center for Transportation & Logistics’ Supply Chains Driving Strategic Advantage: Managing Dynamics & Innovating the Future executive education course, January 3 – 7, 2007, in Cambridge, MA. The course is sponsored by MIT-CTL and the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals.

The sessions reflect the remarkable depth of content that these courses have become known for, and which distinguishes the program from other executive education offerings in the field. "I would recommend this course to people both inside and outside the field of supply chain management. It provided a high level overview of practices and case studies pertinent to current supply chain issues. But it also delivered a more strategic, long-term view of how our supply chains must change to meet future challenges," said past attendee Mary Wilson, Fairchild Semiconductors.

Taught by a half-dozen MIT faculty and researchers, the three-day course covers current industry-leading supply chain practices, as well as future supply chain challenges. Sessions include:

  • Clockspeed and Value Chain Mapping by Prof. Charles Fine, Sloan School of Management
  • Future of Work: Outsourcing and SCM by Prof. Tom Malone, Sloan School of Management
  • The Resilient Enterprise by Prof. Yossi Sheffi, Engineering Systems Division, CTL Director
  •  S&OP Review and Exchange by Dr. Larry Lapide, CTL Research Director
  •  Supply Chain Strategy Case by Dr. Jonathan Byrnes, CTL Lecturer
  •  Future Scenarios Workshop by Dr. Mahender Singh, SC2020 Project Manager

Space is restricted so those interested in signing up are encouraged to register as soon as possible. Individuals can register online.  For questions about the course email: ctl-events@mit.edu.
