Our monthly research briefing in September is the first of a two-part exercise to give Supply Chain Exchange partners a first-hand experience with our CAVE (Computational and Visual Education) Lab. Over the past 18 months, the CAVE team has developed a number of applications that illustrate the CAVE’s ability to visualize and support the analysis of complex supply chain problems.
The first session of the exercise (September 7) will introduce the CAVE and a specific application, and the participants will learn how to use the app. Participants will be given a supply chain design problem, and will be asked to use the CAVE app to analyze the situation and make a design recommendation. The second session of the exercise (October 5) will convene the participants in an interactive group analysis of the situation and their proposed solution sets. Matthias Winkenbach, Tim Russell, and Connor Makowski will be researcher facilitators for the exercises.
