The presentation is divided in two parts that covers selected geographical aspects of the regional and local dimensions of city logistics. First, the freight landscape concept considers the spatial variation in freight activity and intensity within metropolitan areas. To illustrate this concept, a comparative framework between four major global cities, New York, Los Angeles, Paris and Seoul, is provided. Second, an overview of an ongoing survey of residential parcel deliveries in New York underlines the impacts of ecommerce on the local demand structure of urban freight.
