Unveiling the Fallacies of Digital Twins
Supply chains today undergo a paradigm shift with the inevitable rise of emerging technologies. Specifically, digital twins have become an exciting technology as they offer a number of state-of-the-art supply chain solutions and enable various capabilities across operational, tactical, to strategic levels. Digital twin technology is primarily described as virtual replicas of physical objects, where they can see, think, and communicate with their real-world counterparts on a real-time basis. However, the more we hear about this technology, the more confusion brings along with it. In this talk, we discuss what this technology is and is not and discover the widespread misconceptions around the topic. We will explore their impacts on end-to-end supply chains through some examples of supply chain applications from warehouses to distribution and their use for faster and more efficient decision-making for improved business outcomes.
