Dr. Shaoxuan Liu received his Ph.D. in Operations Management from the University of California, Irvine and is currently the Director of Ningbo Supply Chain Innovation Institute China. He is also a Research Affiliate at the MIT Center for Transportation and Logistics.
Prior to joining NSCIIC, he was a faculty member at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, where he also served several academic and executive positions including Doctoral Supervisor, the Academic Director of the SJTU-MIT Leaders for Global Operations Executive Education Program and the Deputy Director of the Liberal Arts Development Division. He was a visiting scholar at MIT Sloan School of Management, and he was teaching and doing research at the Paul Merage School of Business of the University of California. He serves as a reviewer for premier academic journals such as Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, Production and Operations Management, and Decision Analysis. He also serves as a reviewer for the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the Research Grants Council (RGC) of Hong Kong. Over the years, he has provided consulting and training services to a large number of enterprises such as Dell, Apple, Amazon, SAIC, Cisco, Honeywell, Esquel and Nike.
