Tim Russell is a Research Engineer at the MIT Humanitarian Supply Chain Lab and the MIT Computational Analytics, Visualization & Education (CAVE) Lab. At the Humanitarian Supply Chain Lab, he leads fuel supply chain research as part of the FEMA Logistics Management Directorate sponsored Supply Chain Analysis Network (SCAN) project, which supports disaster response and recovery. At the CAVE Lab, he contributes to the development of interactive visual interfaces for complex supply chain and logistics research models, supporting decision-makers and driving research into practice. Tim also supports the CTL Supply Chain Masters graduate program, where he facilitates the MIT "Beer Game" supply chain simulation and advises students, and contributes to the edX online course on Humanitarian Logistics. He has worked across the Caribbean, Latin America, Former Yugoslavia, the Middle East, Russia, and East Africa on humanitarian and private sector supply chains. Prior to this role, Mr. Russell conducted research with WFP on their cash and voucher program in Darfur. He has worked in industry as a Director of Supply Chain Network Strategy for PepsiCo. Mr. Russell holds an M.Eng from MIT and a B.S. from Georgia Tech.
