The 2026 State of Supply Chain Sustainability Report

Help shape the 2026 State of Supply Chain Sustainability Report.

The 2026 State of Supply Chain Sustainability Survey is now live.

As global supply chains continue to evolve, your insights help shape the data, trends, and benchmarks that leaders rely on to make informed decisions.

Entering its seventh year, the State of Supply Chain Sustainability (SSCS) Report continues to deliver rigorous, data-driven evidence on whether ESG commitments translate into real operational progress.

The goal of this survey is to gain a better understanding of the state of sustainable supply chains year by year. Everyone is encouraged to participate as we are surveying professionals globally across industries, regions, and positions to get a fuller picture of supply chain sustainability, regardless of background and training.  This survey should take less than 10 minutes to complete and is anonymous. Responses will be used in the aggregate in the report.

Thank you for your time! Please visit sustainable.mit.edu for further info or to contact us with any questions. You can also leave comments at the end of the survey.

The 2026 SSCS Report will focus on 3 key themes derived from our research:

Industrial AI, Sustainable Logistics, Measuring Sustainability Maturity
Theme 1: Industrial AI

How are companies using industrial AI to advance sustainability? The section will capture lessons from early adopters, the barriers they face, and the operational impact.

Theme 2: Sustainable Logistics

Covers the topic of sustainable freight and warehousing, including adoption readiness, infrastructure gaps, and real-world constraints, with the goal to evaluate the emerging challenges and opportunities within supply chains.

Theme 3: Measuring Sustainability Maturity

A cross-region, cross-industry comparative analysis investigating the questions of how does sustainability maturity vary across regions, industries, and firm sizes? Constructing a Sustainability Maturity Index, we will be able to map regional and sectoral differences in sustainability capabilities and demonstrated progress.
