The Basel ZLOG Alumni Group organized a workshop on January 17, 2014 to share best practices in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. The event took place in the headquarters of Roche Technical Operations, Basel, Switzerland.
The Alumni Group is composed of 15 graduates of the MIT-Zaragoza Master in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (ZLOG) at the Zaragoza Logistics Center (ZLC). They work at pharmaceutical and chemical companies such as Clariant, Novartis, and Roche in the Basel area. The workshop was supported by Roche and the Zaragoza Logistics Center.
Sixty professionals from BASF, Carlsberg Supply Company, Clariant, Johnson & Johnson, Novartis, Novo Nordisk, Pfizer, and Roche attended the workshop. The event included plenary and Best Practice sessions, and key experts gave presentations on managing variability and risk. The Best Practice session allowed the invited professionals to share experiences and network with other industry peers facing similar challenges. Speakers included David Gonsalvez, Director of ZLC, Alejandro Serrano, Professor of SCM at ZLC, and three alumni from ZLC.
