Supply Chain Frontiers issue #50

A second ZLC Medal of Distinction was presented to Dr. Stephen C. Graves on July 24, 2013 during the PhD Summer Academy at the Zaragoza Logistics Center (ZLC) in Zaragoza, Spain.

Dr. Graves is the Abraham J. Siegel Professor of Management Science at MIT. He teaches classes in supply chain planning and design, and in mathematical modeling and analysis, as applied to manufacturing, supply chains and distribution systems.

This medal recognizes and acknowledges the vast contribution and the excellence in teaching and research in the field of Operations Research and Management of the recipient, and is awarded by a panel of faculty at ZLC.

The sixth PhD Summer Academy is a five-week intense period of learning, debating, and discovering the fundamental concepts and recent trends in supply chain management. Participants have the opportunity to meet over 40 doctoral students from various institutions to exchange ideas and be part of a discussion forum of outstanding scholars in the area of logistics and supply chain management.

A group of distinguished professors from prestigious academic institutions such as Koç University, University of Michigan, Columbia University, Georgetown University, Arizona State University, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology joined this year’s academy to present different topics in the field.
