Abstract

Supply Chain Frontiers issue #49

Staying ahead of the competition is much easier if the supply chain challenges that lie ahead are known. But it’s impossible to peer into the future, right? Not quite.

Attendees at an MIT Center for Transportation & Logistics (MIT CTL) Executive Education course this June will participate in a unique scenario-planning exercise that transports them to future worlds. There, they will anticipate how supply chains function, and translate these visions of the future into strategies for today.

This is not science fiction. Developed by MIT CTL, the scenarios are based on real-world trends, and the lessons learned are applied using tried-and-tested case studies. A number of companies can attest to the method’s success.

In addition to this groundbreaking scenario-planning method, the highly interactive course covers:

  • Integrated supply chain management
  • Supply chain dynamics
  • Sustainability and carbon footprint
  • Managing uncertainty
  • Current practices in leading companies
  • Aligning supply chain with corporate strategy

MIT CTL’s Supply Chain Management: Driving Strategic Advantage Executive Education course takes place from June 11 to June 14, 2013, on the MIT campus, Cambridge, MA, US.

Please note: Exchange Partner companies are entitled to one free seat per year at one of MIT CTL’s Executive Education courses.
