Abstract

Supply Chain Frontiers issue #46

A Retail and Fashion Supply Chain Management executive education program for CEOs was organized recently by the Zaragoza Logistics Center, Zaragoza, Spain, for retailers in Singapore. The event attracted 21 people from leading companies.

The program was delivered by distinguished academics from MIT Global SCALE Network centers and other top-notch universities such as UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles, US) and the Art Institute of Michigan, US, as well as industry experts. Harley-Davidson, StarThreeSixty, Reebonz, Scanteak, and Soo Kee Jewellery were among the companies represented at the event.

Topics covered included retail supply chain management, retail marketing, global logistics and purchasing, and luxury brands. As part of the curriculum, attendees studied the development of international expansion strategies, as well as culture and talent issues, and the sales channels used by industry leaders Zara and Desigual. Attendees also gained some practical experience through visits to a Zara distribution center and to Spain’s largest retail store, El Corte Inglés.
