Abstract

Supply Chain Frontiers issue #41

The TISAT Logistics Consortium was awarded the Leaders’ Value Network 2011 Prize by Bogotá, Colombia-based logistics research and education firm LOGyCA, at a special ceremony this past May. The award also marked the 10th anniversary of the prize.

Created to recognize outstanding achievements in the logistics field, the Leaders’ Value Network award is given for projects that promote collaboration between business partners, are innovative, and are geared to the needs of end customers.

A panel of experts assesses each entrant. This year, the panel members were: Jairo Alfonso Burbano Náder, an independent consultant in logistics and supply chain; Alejandro Toro Londoño, General Manager of Tayrona Offshore Services Ltda.; and Hugo T.Y. Yoshizaki, a professor and researcher at the Department of Production Engineering of the Polytechnic School at USP, Brazil. Nine organizations were nominated for the 2011 award.

The TISAT Logistics Consortium is composed of three companies: Geodis Wilson Colombia, a global freight forwarder; GAMA, a Colombian customs agency; and Mammoth Colombia, a specialized transportation company. The consortium developed a collaborative approach to international transportation operations in the oil and gas industry that achieved a marked improvement in service quality.
