Supply Chain Frontiers Issue #18. Read all articles in this issue

A one-day conference sponsored jointly by the MIT Center for Transportation & Logistics (CTL) and the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) on energy-efficient supply chains will take place at MIT, Cambridge, MA, on April 30, 2007.The event builds on the success of a panel discussion organized by CTL during the CSCMP’s annual conference in San Antonio, TX, last October.  It also draws on research work carried out as part of CTL’s Supply Chain 2020 project.

Leading experts from industry and academia will discuss rising energy costs and the impact on supply chain design and management. Issues on the agenda include the streamlining of distribution networks to reduce energy consumption, new types of packaging, and collaborative programs to develop best practices that support energy efficiency.  The line-up of speakers will be announced in coming weeks.
