Professor Yossi Sheffi has been selected to receive the Salzberg Lifetime Award from the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University. The Salzberg Medallion has come to be recognized as one of the most prestigious awards in the field of transportation and supply chain management. In a letter to Sheffi on behalf of the Whitman School, Dr. Melvin Smith (Whitman School Dean) remarked, "As a respected scholar, educator, innovator, and entrepreneur, your contributions have made and will have a lasting legacy in this discipline.” Professor Sheffi will accept the award at the Harry E. Salzberg Memorial program on October 6, 2011, and will present the talk “Risk and Resilience—a Look into the Future.”
