Short description:
Less-than-truckload (LTL) carriers have some of the most complicated networks in transportation.  In this talk, Sean Bumgarner will discuss how ABF (one of the most sophisticated carriers in the industry) optimizes the design and daily management of their national network.

Bio:
Mr. Bumgarner received a degree in Mathematics from Saint John's University (Collegeville MN) in 1998. He  received a degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from North Dakota State University in 2000. Upon Graduation he started working as Industrial Engineer at ABF Freight System, Inc., by 2004, he was promoted to Senior Engineer, and in 2006 was promoted to director of the department. In 2008 ABF released a dual network system (long haul and short haul) marketed as RPM. In 2012, ABF has expanded the department to field based engineers as well as general office based. He is a member of the Arkansas Trucking's 40 under 40 program, TMC's EOBR Task Force, in the process of turning G&G Properties from a sole proprietorship into an LLC.
