Emel Yontar Ph.D. is a Visiting Scholar at Food and Retail Operations Lab (FaROL) in the Center for Transportation & Logistics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
She is also an Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Tarsus University in Turkey. She has been working as an Industrial Engineer for 12 years in industry and academia. Her research interests are sustainability, circular economy, and blockchain technology in supply chain management, especially food supply chain management.
Prior to her work at the MIT FaROL, Dr. Emel earned her Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering. There, her research encompassed sustainability performance analysis criteria with modeling and decisions for food supply chain management.
