Students explore how supply chains can effectively meet human needs during humanitarian crises stemming from natural disasters, armed conflicts, epidemics, and famine. Considers both logistical efforts to distribute aid and facilitation efforts to restore market distribution capability. Class sessions discuss case studies and contextual exercises developed by the instructor from global research, fieldwork and crisis deployment. Guest speakers will join relevant discussions. Provides students with knowledge of the humanitarian context, skills for crisis logistics planning, and intuition to cultivate supply chain resilience.
