Zhekai Li

Zhekai Li is a PhD student and Research Assistant at the MIT Center for Transportation & Logistics. His current research interests center on sequential decision-making, online learning, and combinatorial network optimization, with a growing focus on Large Language Models.


Prior to MIT, Zhekai earned his M.S. from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and B.S. from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, both in Electrical Engineering. His earlier research examined sustainable operations through the lens of systems control, addressing the challenges of the low-carbon economy, specifically the cost-effective coordination of renewable and traditional energy sources.


His research contributions have been recognized across the operations research and engineering communities: he was a Best Paper Competition Finalist at the INFORMS QSR Conference and received the Best Industrial Paper Award at the IEEE International Conference on Electrical Energy Conversion Systems and Control.
