MIT Digital Supply Chain Transformation Lab Director Dr. Maria Jesus Saenz received this year's Best Paper Award from the journal Operations Management Research.
In the winning paper, "Key enablers of dynamic capabilities for digital transformation in supply chain management," Dr. Saenz and her co-authors conduct a wide-ranging, multiple-case analysis to identify the foundations and managerial levers that drive large-scale digital change.
"This recognition reflects a collective effort with industry partners, the MIT Digital Supply Chain Lab and my co-authors to better understand how supply chains can evolve in the digital era," Dr. Saenz said. "Our work goes beyond technology and AI, highlighting how leadership, collaboration, and flexible investment choices enable real transformation across networks. Drawing on a rich empirical setting with 17 international companies, we identify 22 micro-foundations that shape how organizations sense, seize, and reconfigure capabilities during digital transformation."
