Yin Jin is a 4th year Ph.D. student at MIT Institute for Data, Systems and Society. Her current research focus is sustainability in commodity supply chains. She is part of the Responsible Supply Chain Lab at the Center for Transportation & Logistics.
Ms. Lee is interested in understanding consumer and market attitudes towards sustainability and using models to analyze ways to increase sustainability consciousness and promote sustainable production and consumption. In a recent study, she found that media and regulation can influence how companies source palm oil and disclose the relevant supply chain information to the public.
Yin Jin Lee has a B.S. in Chemical and Biological Engineering from U.W. Madison and an S.M. in (Socio-technical) Engineering Systems from MIT. These degrees, including her Ph.D. candidacy, are part of a generous scholarship from the National Science Scholarship Agency of Science, Technology And Research (A-STAR).
