Dr. Hugo Tsugunobu Yoshida Yoshizaki is an associate professor of the Department of Industrial Engineering at Polytechnic School, University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil. He is co-director of the Center for Innovation in Logistic Systems at USP and scientific director of the Center for Disaster Research and Education (CEPED) at USP. He was Senior Research Fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is member of the U.S. National Academies of Science and Engineering, Transportation Research Board (TRB) Standing Committee on Urban Freight Transportation - AT025 and vice-president, Latin America & Caribbean, of the Production and Operations Management Society (POMS). He received his B.S. in Marine Engineering and Naval Architecture, M.S. in Transportation Engineering, and Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the Polytechnic School, USP.
Dr. Yoshizaki´s research interests are in sustainable logistics, logistic network design, megacity logistics, humanitarian operations management, and interactive visual analytics. He has published about 140 papers in journals and conference proceedings, including Transportation Research Part D, Journal of Transport Geography, Computers & Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, European Journal of Operational Research, Applied Mathematical Programming, Maritime Economics & Logistics, Journal of Humanitarian Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and Interfaces.
