Christoph Lennartz is a visiting scholar at the MIT Center for Transportation and Logistics, researching together with Dr. Maria Jesus Saenz. He focuses his Ph.D. research on digital supply chain management (SCM) transformations. In his research, Christoph aims to identify the success factors that influence digital business transformations in the area of SCM, providing new insights into the field of growing importance. He applies both, explorative and quantitative research methodologies.
Before starting his Ph.D. research, Christoph Lennartz obtained his M.Sc. in Supply Chain Management at the University of Cologne and his M.Sc. in International Business at the Warsaw School of Economics. The University of Cologne honored his performance with the Dean´s Award, him being one of the top 5% performing students. During his studies he gained additional experience via internships in the banking and automotive industries. In 2014, Christoph started his professional career as a consultant at McKinsey & Company, Inc., where he successfully conducted McKinsey´s Operational Excellence Program in Supply Chain Management in 2017. During his time as a consultant, Christoph worked on a variety of projects with a global scope, especially focusing on Supply Chain Management. This work included Digitalization topics like SC4.0 technologies, Advanced Analytics, and Digital Supply Chain Transformations. Also in 2017, Christoph started his Ph.D. research at the WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management.
