Dr. Jarrod Goentzel is the Executive Director of the MIT-Zaragoza International Logistics Program, leading MIT’s role in developing novel education, research, and outreach programs through its partnership with the Zaragoza Logistics Center in Zaragoza, Spain.  He is also a Research Associate at the MIT Center for Transportation & Logistics with research interests in the areas of international supply chain networks, transportation optimization, the link between finance and supply chain, humanitarian logistics, and energy supply chains.

Dr. Goentzel has worked in logistics & supply chain management for over a decade leading consulting projects, developing technology, and educating executives.  He held management roles at Velant, a supply chain technology company funded by Matrix Partners, and Baan Company, a large ERP vendor.  

Dr. Goentzel's educational background includes a M.S. in applied mathematics from Colorado State, and a B.A. in mathematics from Tabor College, and advanced mathematical studies at Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest, Hungary.  He received his Ph.D. from the School of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
