The Government of Aragón in Spain has granted the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) the 2009 Aragón International Prize. The Aragón International Prize, along with the Aragón Prize, are the most prestigious awards granted annually by the government.

Ben-Akiva honored for lifetime achievement in transportation research Professor Moshe Ben-Akiva received the Dupuit Prize from the World Conference on Transport Research Society at its conferencein June. The Dupuit Prize, the highest honor presented by the society, is named after Jules Dupuit, often credited as the founder of transportation research.
