Agenda | FAQs

On Wednesday, June 15, the Center will convene members from the 40+ Partner companies that are members of the CTL Supply Chain Exchange. The intention of this annual partner meeting is to provide our Partners with an update on the latest research and development activities at CTL, and allow us to solicit input from our Partners on future plans for CTL. Then please join us for dinner afterward at a local restaurant.

This meeting coincides with our annual Crossroads conference on Thursday, June 16. Don't miss out on the opportunity to exchange ideas and learn about our plans for the coming year. Then stay on through Thursday for our Crossroads 2011 conference.

Where is the meeting being held?

The meeting will be held at the MIT Faculty Club, 6th floor (building E52), located at the corner of Memorial Drive and Wadsworth Street. You can locate building E52 by using MIT's interactive campus map.

When does the meeting officially begin and end?

Meeting check-in and informal networking will begin at 8:00 a.m. and adjourn at approximately 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2011.

When booking your return flight, take into consideration the following recommendations for travel time and security checks at Logan: allow two hours for a domestic flight and three hours for an international flight.

Are accommodations provided?
No, each person is responsible for his/her own accommodations.

Where should I stay?
Guests are responsible for their own hotel accommodations. A block of rooms has been reserved at the Royal Sonesta Hotel* at the negotiated rate of $279/night + 14.45% taxes. The block will close on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. local time. Clicking on the link below will bring you directly to the online reservation page for this room block.

Royal Sonesta Boston
40 Edwin Land Blvd.
Cambridge MA 02142
617-806-4200

*The Sonesta is a non-smoking hotel. Smoking is restricted to designated outdoor areas. This hotel is not adjacent to MIT -- it's roughly one mile from campus (about a 15 minute walk along the river).

For additional accommodation listings, please see Visiting MIT; however, please note that the room rates do not vary greatly for those hotel properties in proximity to MIT.

Where is the nearest airport?
Boston's Logan International Airport.

What is the best way to travel from the airport?

To get to MIT from the airport, we strongly suggest taking a cab. The trip will take anywhere from 15-30 minutes, and the fare is roughly $30-35. The cab fare from Logan is always a bit more than the return, because a surcharge at the airport and a tunnel toll add approximately $5 to the total fare.

If you live locally and prefer public transportation, take the MBTA Red Line to the Kendall/MIT stop. It is a short three block walk from the T.

Should I rent a car?
We do not recommend renting a car. The expense on top of poorly marked streets and lack of available parking makes having a car more of a nuisance than a convenience.

If I drive, how do I get there and where can I park?
If you are renting a car or will be driving, MapQuest and Google Map offer excellent mapping services to get you from your doorstep to MIT. The physical address of the Faculty Club is 50 Memorial Drive, Cambridge, MA.

The nearest self-parking garage is adjacent to the Cambridge Marriott. Rates are currently $20/night or $18/twelve hours. This garage is not owned or operated by the Marriott.

What should I wear?
Appropriate attire is business casual; no ties or suit coats are necessary.

What if I have a dietary restriction or allergy?
If you have any dietary restrictions or allergies, please email CTL Events Coordinator, Nancy Martin, nlmartin@mit.edu to let her know.
